READINGS

Apostolos (Heb. 13, 7-16)

- Blessed art thou, O Lord, the God of our Fathers and praised and glorified is your name forever. (Daniel 3:26).

- Because you are right in everything you've done, and all thy works are true and thy ways. (Daniel 3:27).

Reading from the First Letter of Paul to the Hebrews.

Brothers, remember your leaders, who spoke to you the word of God carefully considered the outcome of their life, imitate their faith. Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today and forever! Not let yourself be distracted by various and strange doctrines, because it is good that the heart be strengthened by grace, not by foods that have never gone to benefit those who used it. We have an altar to which they have no right to eat those who serve the tabernacle. For the bodies of animals, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin are burned outside the camp. Wherefore Jesus also, to sanctify the people with his own blood suffered outside the gate. So we go out even us go to him, bringing his shame, because here we have no continuing city, but seek one to come. Through him therefore let us continually offer a sacrifice of praise to God, that is the fruit of lips that confess his name. Do not forget the charity and be a part of your assets to others, because of such sacrifices God is well pleased.

Alleluia (3 times).

- O God, our ears have heard, our fathers have told us that the work you did in their days, in ancient times. (Ps. 43.2)

Alleluia (3 times).

- cry of the righteous, and the Lord hears them, and saves all their troubles. (Ps. 33:18).

GOSPEL (Lk 19: 1-10)

At that time Jesus entered Jericho and was passing through, and there was a man named Zacchaeus, chief tax collector and rich, trying to see who Jesus was, but not he could because of the crowd because he was small in stature. So he ran ahead and see him, he climbed a sycamore, was to pass beyond. When he reached the place, Jesus looked up and said, "Zacchaeus, come down quickly, for today I must stay at your house." He hurried down and welcomed him with joy. Seeing this, they all murmured: "He went to stay at a sinner." But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord: "Behold, Lord, I give half my possessions to the poor, and if I have defrauded anyone of anything, restore it fourfold." Jesus said, "Today salvation has come to this house, because he too is a son of Abraham, the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost."
